The Youtube, get some time here, won some ups, among them the annotations in the video, new styles of players, new widgets, new APIs, an analyzer of views, a system of contextual advertisements, capacity for high-definition videos, and Now, the possibility of inclusion of closed caption. Yes, how to use subtitles in movies DivX
The novelty is warm, has left a few hours on Youtube Blog, and has multiple functions. Besides often facilitate the understanding of audio and translation of a speech to videos in other languages, also allows accessibility to the deaf.
You can now insert subtitles in a video already published, accessing My Videos, clicking "Edit" and "and Captions Subtitles." You may insert subtitles in up to 120 languages, but being a file for each language. To view the legends of a video, just click the "cc" (closed caption) in the lower right corner of the player, but this option will only be visible in videos with subtitles already entered. In this button you can also switch between the options available languages.
The principle will only be borne simple captions compatible with the formats known as SubViewer (*. SUB) and SubRip (*. SRT). While it is possible to send captions in any format, only supported formats appear correctly in the player.
Another limitation that probably will be overcome, is the display of legend, only when viewed on-site Youtube. For the players entered on others' sites (embed players), this option is still inactive.
The format is supported in text divided into separate segments of captions, in chronological order. Every legend must have three parts:
- A time code (specifies when the legend must be displayed and for how long)
- The text of the legend (one or more lines of text, and must be UTF-8 encoded)
- A blank line (a blank line is used to mark the end of each caption)
The time is measured from the beginning of the video, these units:
- HH - hours starting at 00
- MM - Minute (00-59)
- SS - Seconds (00-59)
- FS - Fractions of seconds (0-999)
The following formats are compatible time code:
- HH: MM: SS.FS, HH: MM: SS.FS - The display of the legend begins marking the first time and stops in the second. This is compatible with the format SubViewer.
- HH: MM: SS, FS -> HH: MM: SS, FS - The display of captions begins marking the first time and stops in the second. For there is full compatibility with the format SubRip, a "number of legend" also may precede this time code.
- HH: MM: SS.FS - The display of captions that begins marking of time, but did not set the time to stop. We will try to find an appropriate time to stop.
Example:
0:01:23.000,0:01:25.000
Text shown at 1 minute and 23 seconds of video, for 2 seconds0:02:20.250,0:02:23.8
Text shown at 2 minutes and 20.25 s, by 2 minutes, 23.8 s0:03:14.159
Text appears to 3 min, 14,159 s, with indefinite duration.
